Apply for Tri County Ensemble

Friday 26th January, 2024

Take part in our exciting new Tri-County Ensembles! Please fill in this form to apply for your free place.

The workshops and rehearsals will take place at William Aston Hall from 09:00 – 16:30 on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th March, and from 14:00 – 19:00 on Wednesday 27th March (with a concert for friends and family at 18:00).

The ensembles will be led by tutors from Denbighshire Music Co-operative, Wrexham Music Co-operative, and Theatr Clwyd Music in Flintshire.

We’ll be doing everything we can to include as many young musicians as possible but we do have limited places for some instruments in the String Ensemble and Fusion Band so we can put together a balanced group. If you play two instruments or sing as well, then there is space on this form for you to put your first and second choice of ensemble.

A reminder that you’ll need to be in school year 6 to year 13 (ages 10 – 18) to take part and the standard required is around grade 3 to 6 but this is only a guide and you don’t have to have taken any exams (your music teacher should be able to give you some guidance if you are unsure).

The Tri-County Ensembles are a partnership between Denbighshire Music Co-operative, Wrexham Music Co-operative, and Theatr Clwyd Music Trust (Flintshire), If you live or go to school outside of these counties you are still welcome to apply for a place.

There is no charge for the workshops, although there will be a small charge for concert tickets.

The deadline to apply is Friday, 8th March. We will let you know if your application has been successful by Friday, 16th March. We’ll be collecting more detailed information from all the participating young musicians but if there is anything you would like to let us know at this stage, please use the box at the bottom of the form.
