As you are all aware, we are facing very challenging and difficult times across the country in the wake of the Covid-19 virus and its implications.
Following extensive thought, risk assessment and a meeting with Mr Mark Young our Chair earlier today we have made the tough decision that both Music Cooperatives in Denbighshire and Wrexham are on shut down from FRIDAY MARCH 20th until, we hope MONDAY APRIL 20TH pending a review of situation at that time.
The reason for this is for the safety of our pupils, members and staff. This decision stands irrespective of whether or not schools close – our Peri team is seen as a higher risk as they travel amongst so many schools in a day. We have also cancelled our after school ensembles and forthcoming ABRSM examinations.
I kindly ask our schools to help us by notifying pupils and parents that, after next week there will be no delivery of music lessons, music project work or Ensembles until after Easter or such time when it is deemed safe to re-engage lessons.
Please remember, our tutors are engaged for 30 of 39 teaching weeks only so the time will be made up by the end of the academic year.
Our office remains open for any school or parent questions.
Many thanks for your understanding in this difficult matter,
Heather Powell
